Kain Telsin becomes a big part of the DRF SL after something drastic happens to Fox. He becomes a major player in the DRF scenario, and because of that, i decided to draw him.
Quick backstory on Kain: He was raised in Kalika City, a mountain civilization of mountain lions(who'd have thought). Kain was raised to be a fighter and a soldier by his father, who was the general of their army, but the city was so peaceful, no one thought they had any use for a defensive unit.
Kain's homeland was destroyed, when Id attacked (who is actually Fox at this point) and Kain was saved by Kantai, who was tracking Id when he wasted the city. Kain is now the last survivor of his home, and has vowed to protect Kantai as well as destroy Id and have his vengence. He has join the Miko-Jin and the 4 of them continue their search of Id, as well as a way to shut DRF down.
Kain Telsin
Kain Telsin
Heres the very first drawing of Kain.. It's so horrible! But I have it up here so everyone can laugh. I did this without any research on my subject(cats), and boy does it show... but anyhow, here it is! point, laugh, enjoy.
The second drawing of Kain, 1 week later, after actually LOOKING at pictures of mountain lions and cats in general. Much better.. dont you think? I liked this drawing so much, that I inked it and then...
Colored it! with good 'ol photoshop. And there you have it, Kain Telsin, in all his colored glory.
This should be under fanart.. but it's not FOX fanart.. Anyway, this is Kain fanart, and it's drawn by Ali again! This is Kain with Kantai, they are paired up alot in the DRF SL. So ali drew up a pic of them. And a damn fine job he did!

This picture right here is the work of me, and Ali Floyd, who is a good friend of mine. I've actually never met him but we've known eachother for a long time online, and he is who I work with we make the DRF storyline. The scene to the left is a picture from that story. Again, I haven't gotten far enough in updating the DRF portion of it (yeah.. theres basically nothing) for people to understand this.. but just look at it as art. He gave me a rough background sketch (which I lost.. or I would put it here..) and then I detailed it for the final. I drew and inked Kain, and did all the shading for everything. He sent me the girl (Kantai) and the "Mutant" in the corner. It's very cool when two artists can combine talents, but to do all this online.. when neither can actually look ver at the other person's monitor.. It's a great thing when you can accomplish something like this. I easily consider this to be one of my best drawings, and thanks to Ali, It's that much better! Check out his site, while it's not at ALL updated, what you can see, is some very nice work.
Kain with his daggers. I like this, but it's a bit bulky for him.. and the face starts getting weird. I did this while on a plane going to SF and didn't have my old drawings of Kain. It had been a REALLY log time since I'd drawn him, so obviously I needed practice. But Thats exactly why I did these drawings anyway, because I had SO few of him.
I like this one. It's Kain perched on a post with a spear (duh).
Kain was a guard at his home city before it was destroyed, so he would do alot of this. He's actually skilled with much more than daggers, they're just easier to carry.
This picture is mixed.. It's a an okay pose, but still off, and I HATE the face. This is still airplane drawings. After this disaster, i used up a whole page of practicing how to draw him again..
Which shows ALOT in this drawing.. Much more practice and i was ready to get back to drawing him right.
Here, we have Kain pondering something.. What's he pondering? who knows.. Maybe it's the meaning of life..
Kickin' It!
This is alother mixed one. I like this, but something seems off on it. Of course I couldn't do this myself and draw it.. so i had to kinda fake it and figure it out as I went.
This one I really like. Just because i finally nailed the perspective on his hand coming out at you! The dagger needs work though. I didn't have a dagger to look at, however. So.. it was a bit tricky.
Kain is a very polite and elegant person. I realized almost all my drawings of him were fighting or getting ready to fight.. So I toned that down and tried something more calm.
It kinda works, but it has it's problems. This was also on the airplane.. otherwise I'd have stood up and practiced doing the bow myself.. But I didn't.. for fear of being stared at like I was some sort of nut.
Which.. I'm NOT..
This was a fun one. It's Kain eyeing this weird food he has. "Spaghetti". In the DRF storyline, Kain and Kantai go into an italian restuarant, and Kain has never had that kind of food before.. So This is how I imagined him looking at it.
Look out.. he's gonna POUNCE you!

Yet another mixed feelings drawing.
I like the clothing, but the head is awful.. it just kept bugging me so i stopped working on it. Not all drawings can be perfect, especially not sketches.

This was just a quick sketch I did one day. More of Kain using his daggers in an action pose. I like the pose, but never really "finished it".
